PhD research entitled: “Integrated multi-method biosensing for colorectal cancer diagnostics” has proposed, designed and demonstrated feasibility of a biosensing system comprised of a combination of bio-electrochemical and bio-electromechanical assays integrated into an analytical system performing complementary diagnostic tests directly on colorectal cancer biopsy and cell samples. The data collected by the biosensing system provided valuable information regarding the expression of intracellular, membrane bound and secreted biomarkers. The system and method were successfully applied in human clinical trials.
Main activities: bio-electrochemical sensors, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, microelectronic fabrication, cell biology, molecular biology, MEMS, multiplexed electrochemical immunoassays,(incl. ‘whole cell’), single cell mechanical measurements, Protein chemistry and modifications.

MSc thesis entitled: “Directed Metallization of Single Enzyme Molecule with Preserved Biological Activity” has developed a method for electroless deposition of metals targeted to the surface of soluble protein molecules while retaining their enzymatic or binding activities.
Main activities
: biochemistry, enzymology, chemical modifications, different nano and micro analysis techniques, electroless deposition, combination of biological and microelectronic technologies Currently, I am involved in the development of new single molecule field-effect transistors. Main activities: Integration of electrical and electrochemical methods for towards high-confidence diagnosis
