Research

Alexander (Alex) Ranschaert is a graduate student and presidential fellow at Columbia University, currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He previously obtained BSc. and MSc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium, where he specialized in millimeter wave communication systems. He obtained his MS degree from Columbia University in 2023 as a fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF). Since then, he has been working on an organic wireless powering system for compact conformable neural recording devices and on bioelectronics for the delivery of synthetic therapeutics (BIOSYNC). In his free time, Alex enjoys cycling in the Hudson Valley.
