Seungsoo Hong
Research
Seungsoo’s research focuses on next-generation microdisplay technologies, including OLEDoS and microLEDs, and their integration with metasurface technologies. Drawing upon his extensive industry experience in display development at Samsung Display, his work explores the use of nanophotonics and metasurface structures to overcome the optical and physical limitations of ultra-high-resolution displays. Overall, he is interested in bridging industry expertise with academic research to maximize optical efficiency and drive form-factor innovations for future AR/VR and wearable devices. Outside of the lab, he is an avid runner training for marathons, an enthusiast of value investing, and above all, cherishes spending quality time exploring new adventures and creating lasting memories with his family.
